I had the pleasure of going out with these guys a couple of weeks ago, and wow what an afternoon it was!
Managed to come across two small groups of Transients, working together to kill a Stellar Sea lion. It was like something off of a David Attenborough documentary! The boat managed to get reasonably close, and we watched them for ages...it was a ruthless sight, but really represented nature and killer whales in the raw.
The naturalists Erick and Clai on board we really friendly and offered blankets to those of us who wanted to sit up front on the boat. Erick was really inspiring and knowledgeable, and managed to answer all of my annoying whale and non-whale based questions (so thanks Erick!).
On the way back we also saw a humpback and her calf, which was a complete surprise and wonderful sigh to have seen.
The whole trip seemed to have changed my life a little bit, which was just what I needed, so thank you all.
Also the photos you sent out were great!
I will be back next year :)
