Been on a few and this by far is best. Jaw dropping heights, marvels of engineering, narrated well, restored original cars. They give you a guide to follow along. What more could you want?? Excellent tour. Booked on NCL. Definitely recommend!!

This train tour is one of the best offered. Our guide Jon Bon Goldi, was great and you could tell he didn’t consider this as a job. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and a great storyteller. Learned a lot about dog sled racing and panned $19.45 in gold. Just great experience all round.

Hands down my favorite tour of our 10 day Alaskan vacation thanks to our guide, historian, botanist, story teller, poet and comedian Joe Shepherd. I learned more in our time with him than almost anywhere else. He was a wealth of knowledge and I was captivated by his depth of understanding of the people and the stories of Skagway. He even read us his own poem about the raven. And, thanks to Joe’s suggestion, we’ve added a new recommended book to our library - The Hidden Life of Trees. Fascinating! Thanks Joe for an unforgettable adventure!
