Lots of history here. So much to learn and read about. We had a great walk around learning about the past. The bathrooms were clean! The coffee was hot. The gift shop is extremely well priced. The restaurant was closed, but they had snacks available. We even got to stamp our passports. The bridge is slip safe, a little bouncy, but my husband made it across fine (scared of heights). Great excursion with lots to see on the way there, and we took the train back.

Thanks for this thorough review. But I'm not sure you went on the tour with Rainbow Glacier Adventures. That is because you said that you "took the train back." Our tours do not include combinations with the train. We drive our guests to and from the Suspension Bridge in our comfortable vehicles. This keeps the logistics streamlined and allows us the flexibility to pick the locations along the roadside to get out and stop for photographs.

This was a small tour led by Christine who was a wonderful guide and driver. We saw beautiful sites and were able to get out of the van and take some amazing photos. We highly recommend this tour! We didn’t feel like we missed out at all not taking the train. Also, don’t miss out on the delicious chili at the Yukon Suspension bridge!

Thanks for this great review. I'm glad you mentioned the chili. We do not include lunch on the tour, but they do have bison chili available at the bridge. The owners of the Yukon Suspension Bridge own a bison farm in British Columbia, so you can be assured the best is fresh and top quality.

My wife and two children and I were in Skagway for a day on land from our cruise. We dragged our feet in booking a cruise based excursion. The price for this tour was reasonable, and the company had good reviews, so we went for it. You never know what kind of experience you'll have if it's not through the cruiseline. Our experience was exceptional. Our tourguide was Christine, a sweet, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable person who put us at ease and made our tour a joy. She was a font of knowledge regarding Skagway and the surrounding area, and she even kindly showed us how to adjust some settings on our smartphones to get incredible pictures of waterfalls and such. I couldn't recommend this tour more, and specifically Christine as well - do what you can to get her as your guide. =)

Thanks for this great review. I'm glad you said "guided by a caring professional." Guiding is a profession, and we at Rainbow Glacier Adventures take this responsibility seriously. We aim to provide a safe experience and add value to the time you spend in Haines or Skagway. I also like that you mentioned the price was reasonable. Our tours are small-group only, and so they might be more expensive than some of the big bus tours. I believe in small-group experiences and individualized attention, and that is not possible with a fifty-passenger bus. So much of the cruise experience is crowd management, particularly with big ships. So we want our guests to get away from the crowds and have a chance to breath in the fresh Alaskan air at an unhurried pace.
