White Salmon River
Rafting the White Salmon River is one of the best-kept recreation secrets of the Pacific Northwest! You may have seen photos or video of Husum Falls, the 10-foot commercially-run waterfall, or heard stories of incredible adrenaline-pumping whitewater rafting and we could not agree more. The White Salmon River is located only 90 minutes from the Portland/Vancouver area so that you can experience some of the most thrilling and sporty III-IV rapids in the area. The glaciers of Mt. Adams combined with the immense aquifers in the area, keep the White Salmon bubbling all summer long. The river cuts its way through one of the most beautiful, constricted, and heavily forested gorges in the area. The water is gin-clear, the weather is fabulous and rapids are big and numerous; making the White Salmon River one of the most exciting half-day or full-day river rafting trips in the west!

I have lived in White Salmon for 18 years but had never been on the river. I was so nervous because I am out of shape and older. River Drifters has the very best reviews from locals so my friend and tried it. SO MUCH FUN!! River Drifters provided ALL the equipment from wetsuots, splash jackets, booties, life-vests, etc. The facilities were spotlessly maintained and so well laid out. The reservation proccess was easy, all the staff are very friendly. Our guides on the river were, fun, knowledgable and really made the trip over the top perfect. We had everything from experienced rafters to totally new on the river guests and we all had fun. The safety checks were smooth, too the point but detailed and the pictures we got were very proffestional!! I will definitely be taking my kids back for a trip down the river!

Awesome time on White Salmon and 1/2 day was perfect amount of time on water. They give you all the gear (wet suit, jacket, helmet, water shoes) and $65/pp is a price worth the whole experience. Aaron was a great guide and you could tell all the guides were good. White Salmon 1/2 day was the perfect amount of adventure + feeling comfortable. Photos turned out great and we bought them. In term of people who are "scared", I'd say go for it! There were people of all ages and ability and all the guides are very experienced. There wasn't one moment I felt unsafe.

I highly recommend River Drifters! Such an awesome time. We were a group of 6 so had a raft to ourselves with our guide - Charlie - he was AMAZING!! so much knowledge and he created fun opportunities for each of us during the trip, like getting to sit in the front of the raft as we entered the rapids - super fun!! the scenary was breathtaking and even though the water was freezing, they gave us great equipment to wear to keep us warm!
