Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Guests will then meet their personal guide and recieve the necessary equipment Including: life jacket, helmet and paddle.
After your guide double-checks to make sure all equipment is fitted properly, guests then hop on our bus for a short 10-minute ride to the launching point for your trip.

We choose Big Creek for a first rafting experience with our grandchildren ages 9 & 14. We originally scheduled a float trip on the Lower (slower) section of the River because the 9 year old was nervous about rafting. When we arrived at check in the young woman at the desk talked to the 9 year old and convinced him to take the trip on the Upper Section where the rapids are class 3/4. Shane was our guide and he was excellent especially with the 9 year old. From the first rapid, everything was a go, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Shane was a wealth of knowledge about rafting, about the River and even some local history. This was just one adventure on a 10 day road trip. But in the end it was at the top of the list. Thank you Shane, and Thank you everyone at Big Creek.

What an amazing experience with the kids. I felt safe and reassured with all their knowledge. We all had a blast. Our guide was so good too. We all want to do this again

Our guide Huey was kick ass! He ensured our safety, but made sure we had a great time. Will definitely be back!! If ever visiting Gatlinburg/pigeon forge area Big Creek expeditions is without a doubt the place for white water rafting!
