Very disappointed in this tour. Traveled from New York with my 2 granddaughters just to see the ponies. They had read the book Misty and were so excited. Not a pony to be found. Just a few birds. I realize that the tour operator cannot make the ponies appear but it seems that it would be good business to offer another trip at another time. There were more than 25 people on our trip and at 59.00 a person these guys are making good money. They go out 4 times a day so they could certainly afford to offer another trip. To add insult to injury when we returned to the dock the tour operator tried to sell us photos of the ponies we didnā€™t see. Uh, no thank you.

Great tour seeing the wild ponies at Assateague! The first mate and captain were very knowledgeable and entertaining! Glad we were lucky enough to see the ponies and some pelicans. Would book it again! Thanks!

Thank you so much for coming! We appreciate your comment! We do believe the boat or the kayak is the best way to see wild ponies at Assateague. Please tell your family and friends about our tour and hope to see you again in the future!

Boat tour with Captain Mark and narrator (female; didnā€™t get the name) was nice and served as a relaxing day out of the sun for my family and I. Delivered on seeing some wild horses (2 mares and 2 foals), a dolphin, some birds (bald Eagle (in distance that my wife captured with the telephoto lens on her smartphone, but hard to see with naked eye), brown pelicans, sea gulls, bay gulls and cormorants). They passed around binoculars, but I recommend you bring them if you have them. Narrator had a wealth of information (especially about the birds, as she is a birder), but the sound system made it difficult to hear from the back of the boat by the engine. Captain Mark also had a wealth of knowledge, having grown up in the area and with relatives that grew up in the area. He was also part of the National Park Service, so good knowledge of environmental matters. Aside from the poor sound system quality on the boat, the feeling of up selling customers on photographs was a downside. Overall a nice experience.

Thank you so much for going on our boat tour! We are glad to hear that we were able to provide you with a nice experience and you got to see the ponies, a dolphin and birds including an eagle. We also appreciate your comment. We will try to make the sound system better. We are sorry that you feel that way about selling Capt. Mark's photographs on the boat, but they are indeed very beautiful. He has a great collection of unique photos, and believe it or not, all of his photos of wild ponies are taken on the boat tour when he goes out, so it is real!!
