Overview

The Loxahatchee River tour starts out narrow and twisty as it meanders its along its way downstream from Riverbend Park toward the Atlantic Ocean. The round-trip tour lasts approximately 2 hours from Riverbend Park down the river, depending on water and weather conditions. You’ll pass through an incredible cypress swamp, some sandy areas and thousands of species of plants and animals. The tour will often be under the shade of a beautiful canopy of cypress trees. Currents and water levels vary with the seasons. Portage may be necessary. Please review conditions and specific tour details with staff.

Andrew was the guide along this scenic Florida river. There were 12 adults on the trip. The equipment was in very good condition and Andrew and the rest of the Jupiter outdoor center team got us quickly outfitted with clear instructions. Andrew took professional level photos which he shared free of charge with all of us! It was an easy trip down the river and medium strenuous paddling into the current on the return. We saw turtles, manatees, alligators, birds etc. Andrew pointed out and shared his knowledge, but he is new to the area and knew less about the flora. The trip took longer than the two hours advised, but we were having so much fun, it was ok! It would have been useful to offer water or notice to bring your own. We would highly recommend this trip- really a great experience!

Our guide was Trevor and he was informative on our paddle. Saw a pileated woodpecker and some alligators. My husband and I enjoyed it very much!
