Wilderness Exploration & Crab Feast

Overview

This excursion will bring you right to the heart of Southeast Alaska. Feel the pioneer spirit of those who live and work on her coastal waters and experience “a day in the life” of a local Alaskan. If you want to be hands on, make sure to volunteer to pull up crab pots from the abundant waters surrounding Revillagigedo Island, overflowing with delicious Dungeness Crab. Breathe in the fresh air and spectacular scenery as your crew shares stories and the history of this magnificent waterway. No Alaskan crabbing excursion would be complete without a feast of fresh Dungeness Crab! Baby red potatoes, fresh oriental salad, and a scrumptious cheesecake with blueberry topping dessert will round out this hearty meal. Your hosts will lead you through a panorama of local tall tales then demonstrate the easiest way to crack your crabs! The remote location will only add to your dining pleasure at the rustic, yet elegant, George Inlet Lodge.

The whole experience was excellent but the crab feast at the end was wonderful. Great food and setting. The boat was enclosed and the bus from our ship to location went straight through town and the driver was a great tour guide as well as the guide on boat. Pulled a crab pot, yes uts catch and release, and the scenery was spectacular. This tour lived up to expectations and then some.

Starts with a boat tour through picturesque waterway. Not a lot of wildlife, but they feed the eagles (is that legal?) to get them to fly by. Did pick up a crab pot with crab. The tour was pleasant enough. It ends with the crab feast and that exceeded our expectations. The crab was delicious. And plenty of it. There wasn't a great variety of food (just salad, crab, and desert) but it was very good.

Best excursion yet! Beth (the guide) and Sonny (boat captain) were the best! They showed us wildlife and beautiful scenery. They were very informative. Shout out to Beth for taking videos of my husband and friend hand feeding deer! The seafood boil was delicious! I highly recommend this excursion!
