It’s a great experience. Our tour guide Chris provided a lot of information that only Alaskan know about.

If you are looking for a low-key, very informative look at Alaskan wildlife and nature, this is a great option. Our guide, Chris, was a walking (or rather driving) encyclopedia of knowledge on flora, fauna and history of the region. Touring the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center gave us a chance to see moose, bear, wolves, elk, caribou and reindeer in a peaceful, wide-open setting totally unlike a zoo. We also saw some animals in the wild. The walk in the rainforest was brief but offered wonderful views of Portage Lake. Chris also knew just where to stop to capture other meaningful vistas in our camera phones. This would be a great option for folks who want to experience nature without a ton of exertion.

I loved all the stops on the trips, and we went to several scenic lookouts. It was very beautiful and we got a close look at the glacier water. The tour guide was very friendly and I like how he made an effort to talk to everyone individually on the tour. It’s definitely worth the money. The tour guide Matthew seems very passionate about the areas of the tour and seems to love his job. It was also great getting a very close look at all the animals.
