We spent about 2 hours browsing the collection. We took advantage of the QR code guides at each display to walk us through it. There is a lot of items to see. We found it pretty cool overall. The immersive experience was just ok. I do feel like the admission fee is too high and I think that’s where people leave disappointed. Something to consider……

Thank you for your visit and review. I am glad you enjoyed your visit and had a great experience overall. We understand that it might be expensive for some. Considering the quality and quantity of original movie props and 3 different Immersive experiences, we feel it is a good value for the money, taking into consideration that Immersive Van Gogh by itself costs over $30 anywhere else to see.

The Wizard of Oz Museum was better than expected. The expansive collection contains over 2,000 artifacts related to L. Frank Baum and his Land of Oz. Of particular note the museum has copies of all the original Oz books including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz signed by L. Frank Baum. The movies props include a copy of the 1939 MGM movie script, an original Dorothy dress worn by Judy Garland, Emerald City townsman jacket, a Winkie guard spear prop, and a set of Ruby slippers from the defunct Disney MGM Great Movie Ride. There are two life sized dioramas of the main characters in Emerald City and the Wicked Witch with her flying monkeys. There is a small kids area playing a Wizard of Oz cartoon with Oz books and toys the children can touch. The highlight is the 2000 square foot immersive experience provided by 31 projectors - 15 on all the walls and 16 for the floor. In addition to the eponymous Wizard of Oz, the 20 minute plays the works of Vincent Van Gogh and the James Webb telescope images. The Universe images was my favorite. As a bonus, they gave my daughter a scavenger hunt to find certain animals and write the display case number it was located for a prize (two stickers or a book mark). Note: We have visited the OZ Museum in Wamego, Kansas which has a similar number of artifacts and enjoyed both.
