We have been to the Black Hills several times but this year our daughter and her family joined us for the first time. We thought the tour would be a great way for them to see a lot in the relatively short time we were staying, 3 days. They were totally impressed and very happy that we did as we were as well. I would recommend it for anyone if you have not done a tour before. Money well spent!

Excellent in every way. Our guide, Mike, was knowledgeable, patient, and engaging. He showed us what we would never have seen on our own. Great family experience. I highly recommend it!

Our tour guide Kathy was wonderful. My only issue was the lack of time spent at the monuments. I picked this tour as they say they tour the monuments first and you have time at the monuments that way. For some reason they did not do that. Way too much time was spent in the park. Great scenery at the park and lots of buffalo encounters. Still hardly any time left for the monuments, and we were all tired by the end of the day, so even if there was more time, I would not have wanted it. The monuments should be the first two stops. I did love the open top van. We were able to stand up and take photos when the van was stopped. Just watch as the AC was loud and didn't get to the very back of the van.

Hi Kris - Thanks for taking time for your review. I'm happy you enjoyed your tour with Kathy and at Custer State Park. I don't know what the weather was like on the day of your tour . . . but I can explain a few things about the routes we use and why. 1. In "perfect" weather, we go to Mt Rushmore 1st, Crazy Horse 2nd, then on to the outdoor adventure at Custer State Park. 2. In "extreme heat" we travel to the lower level Custer State Park 1st (cool in morning - Hot in late afternoon with the top open) and then tour the attractions and monuments that are at higher elevations and much cooler. 3. Rain/Lightning/High Winds . . . the Hills most “dangerous” weather usually happens from about noon through late afternoon. On these days we feel it necessary to tour the highest attractions 1st (Mt Coolidge, Needles and Iron Mtn Road) and be below the peaks before noon. We tour the Wildlife Loop at Custer Park next and finish with touring the monuments last, where it is safest and dry. Thanks again Kris for your review. I hope you have time to return to the Hills for more fun soon. Be Well - Rich To our future guests: the Mt Rushmore Safari Tour was at one time 12.5 hours long. We adjusted it to now being 9-10 hours long. You see the most you can of the Southern Hills that day. Because it’s a long day we have limited the stops at Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse to one hour each. For the people that want more time at the monuments I highly suggest our Monuments Combo Tour. This tour only goes to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse and allows several hours at each and plenty of time to explore. And if you have another day our Buffalo Safari Tour takes in all Custer State Park and is about 5+ hours long.
