Went with my WW2 history-buff son and had a wonderful and interesting time. Peter, our host, was very friendly and filled with stories and knowledge about his astounding collection of period weapons.
Seriously, British LeeāEnfields, Russian Mosins, German Karabiner 98k, American M1 Garand and carbines and Japanese Arisakas to name a few. All in beautiful condition. Indeed, we got to shoot most of these (sadly, some have ammunition shortages right now) in addition to a M1919 Browning 30-cal MG, a Suomi KP (Finnish burp gun), lugers, hi-powers and 1911s etc. While Peterās shooting range is being worked on, it is safe and in my opinion he is very safety aware and was always close to and in charge of those handling loaded weapons (I mean weāre talking about full auto submachine guns here). Peter is unlikely to allow any jackassery on his range.
In short, this a great option for history buffs and firearm enthusiasts. If you, or some of your group are neither of these. No worries, Peter is a kind, fun and understanding guy and worked well with my wife who is not a WW2 history nerd and had never fired a gun.
Finally, please remember that the backwoods vive of the place is of the ālikes their spaceā sort rather than the āstay the hell out of my spaceā variety. Indeed, you will quickly feel welcome and amazed once you enter the shop. .
