It was a good day. Weather was perfect. The others on the bus were nice friendly people (isn’t everyone?). But it wasn’t until 4 hours into the trip that I realized what I signed up for. The heat and AC in the aging bus worked, but only slightly and not all the time. The driver handed a squeegee and we passed it around to be able to see out of our fogged windows. After someone asked for warmth the driver got out, raised the bus’s hood and adjusted something on the engine. “We’ll have heat in a few minutes. The system is either all hot or all cold - no in between “. “Extranomical”. I get it now. Nice. At the “giant sequoia” hike I asked if there was water. “Ha ha. We haven’t had water since 2017” was the reply. I suppose I should have brought more, but I didn’t know some stopping points had no services (other than an outhouse). Btw: these are not the giant trees you see in photos. Just run of the mill cedars. We all survived and saw some great vistas. The driver said that our safety was his primary concern. Obviously our comfort was their second...or third priority.

As they do every day! Thanks for letting everyone know that the fall and early winter are some of the best times to visit and enjoy Yosemite.
