Visit to Zootampa on Mar 30th, 23 First of all, I would like to say that the lady at the front desk taking admission fees was most kind and gracious. Getting back to the visit: First of all, we couldn't understand why there was such a long wait to go on Safari. And when we finally got on there were several empty seats which could have been utilized. But if the demand is high....... extra or bigger trailers could be deployed. Those trailers are very basic and not expensive. Yes, it's nice to provide the trip.... around a portion of the campus but the lady narrator on trailer was so hyped up and almost phony...... yelling through the microphone about Professor somebody.... and would he be at the next stop???? It was all so boring..... a bit like a children's pantomime...... "oh yes he is.... oh no he is not. " But it's not her fault ..... She is obviously reading from a script. Drop the whole Mr. Professor nonsense. Talk to us like adults. Maybe stop at one animal location and give us some history or story about one particular animal would be helpful. Maybe the safari could be extended to other parts of the zoo and have some of the staff tell us about all the wonderful work that is being done for animals at Tampa Zoo. We heard nothing about this? Let visitors feel more part of the animals story..... After all, they are paying a hefty admission fee! I had a group of European guests with me and they felt the Safari presentation was more presented as if to children...... a lot of hype but not much calmness or substance. Most of the group are back in Europe now but when I asked their feedback most felt that it was "much adu about nothing" and not good value for the big fee..... which is also probably subsided by private donations and maybe even taxpayer? Also, no decent food outlet for people who want to spend the day there.
