We wanted to get in without waiting in line at the museum. We also waited until the day before we wanted to go so did a last minute look and the only way to go was to book a tour. We like walking tours and this was no exception. The only thing that disappointed me was that I could not see the time before I booked it. I hit buy and THEN it told me it was 3PM. If I had known that I would not have bought, because it really made us hurry through the museum due to evening schedule. However, we did really like our guide, the info they gave on the walk, it was just too long for us due to our schedule. Book earlier than prior day and enjoy. Lots of good info from our guide Amanda. Also as late in the day as we went on a Saturday, April 29th, there was no line to get in the museum.

Considering that he wasn't in NYC on 9-11, the young man who did the tour was fairly knowledgeable and efficiently moved us from place to place leading up to the actual museum where he bid us farewell. Because he didn't experience the event or aftermath, the narration lacked a bit of emotion or a sense of the gravity and the response of the city. Only glitch was that he was not at the meeting place indicated on our instructions where we and other folks were waiting. No problem, we got a call from tour operator directing us to him on other side of building. The tour was informative and did allow us to see things we would otherwise have missed.
