I live in the city and had family in town who wanted to take the Big Bus Tour. I don't mind doing "touristy" things as they are often fun and learning experiences. This was the exception. Traffic in the city is expected, but we spent the majority of our 2+ hours on the North Loop sitting still or inching our way along. When the headphones worked, we mostly listened to music on repeat and, when the factual information was played, it wasn't cued to the right location (e.g., the information about Times Square played around 51st Street and The Met was played before we turned on 5th Avenue). Not only did ours, but several people around us were unable to listen to the recording because the headphones stopped working. We had paid for both the North and South Loops, but expected that we would stay on the same bus for both. When we were told to get off the bus as we were at "the last stop" e were then told we had a 5+ block walk to catch the bus for the South Loop. The staff was not only unhelpful, but uninterested in helping or doing anything to make the experience a positive one. I truly wonder how Big Bus New York has earned a paltry 3.9 rating. I certainly won't be recommending this to any family, friends, or anyone else looking for an NYC bus tour.

We also apologize for the confusion- our Downtown and Uptown tours operate separately and you must make a transfer at Stop #1, Stop #2, or Stop #14. Terrible... the audio was either a step behind or ahead... hard to figure out where you were or what you were suppose to see. Back to the audio... most was silly nonsense or background music.

Paid €100 each for family of 5 for 2 days hop on hop off, first day to use it weather was awful raining etc buses were busy but the condition of buses was very bad, rain pouring in windows, no air circulating, windows fogged up all the time, driver did not call out one stop and considering how bad visibility was this was not helpful, we missed many sites due to this and when I brought this to his attention I got no response, staff completely ignored us and barely answered any questions we had or give us directions it was as if we got your money now leave us alone. 2nd day we didn't even use it actually easier to walk everywhere considering how little extra we got from being on the bus, absolute nightmare of an experience.
