Like Aialik, Holgate Glacier is surrounded by steep cliffs, dense forests and towering mountain peaks. Visitors may see spectacular calving events as ice chunks break and crash into the ocean. Though rare, black bears have been sighted on the beaches in Holgate arm.

Wow! We saw so much wildlife on this tour. The crew was amazing and knowledgeable. We booked this tour through our cruise. We departed our cruise, took a quick bus ride to the tour and enjoyed 7 hours of wildlife, information about the wildlife and area before departing for our bus ride the airport. The lunch was perfect and filling. Loved the Glacier Margarita with jimmy Buffet playing in the background.

We did the 6-hour morning tour in early August. We saw lots of wildlife - two types of whales, otters, harbor seals, sea lions, lots of birds, including two types of puffins, eagles, etc.- as well as a great view of a glacier. The lunch was much better than expected - chicken burritos. The narration was good, and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. However, the outside speakers on the boat were bad, so you often could not hear the narration when outside.

This was an awesome trip. We love exploring national parks and what an incredible experience this was for our family. The boat was a nice size allowing for one to be inside or outside. The captain was so invested in trying to make sure we got to see and experience as much as possible. This trip was the jackpot for us. Beautiful sites, close up and personal with the glacier, birds, wildlife and the most incredible whale show. The whole crew was great. I can't recommend it enough.
