Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

It was an entertaining show. The event was well organized. I was disappointed in our seating that was assigned as we had to Sit with our backs to the show during dinner. $420 for two tickets seemed overpriced for what we got.

Wasn’t sure what to expect. Many more people than we expected, but the event was organized with almost military precision. Food was ok- I’m not a big fan of buffets- but the show itself exceeded all of our expectations. Thought a luau was just a silly tourist attraction, but the performance was highly entertaining and professional.

We had such a lovely evening at this Luau. The venue is quite nice, food delicious and the show was excellent. I'd suggest this is a must do if you're in the area.
