The Mardi Gras School of Cooking does small, intimate hands-on classes in the French Quarter. Classes are more like a dinner party with friends. Feel welcomed into our kitchens by the Chefs themselves. From the moment you arrive until you roll out the door our Chefs are friendly, personable and entertaining. Not to mention their culinary skills are impeccable.

Our minimum class size is 2 people. A solo traveler may join an already scheduled class. Call us to hear about the available classes.

For parties of 8 or more, you will have to contact us directly to book. We have questions.

We had the best time at this cooking class. I brought my daughter who is 11 years old, there were other friends that came along with us as well as other adults for a total of nine people. Chef Scott is fantastic. He is patient and calm and funny and has an incredible breath of experience and knowledge that he brings to the class. We were all able to enjoy beer and wine, my daughter had ice tea, learning the different types of roux and how to make a gumbo, shrimp etouffee and bananas Foster was simply wonderful. It was quite the full meal, although our class ran from 2 to 5 we stayed later because we were enjoying ourselves, and that pretty much took care of dinner as well. Look forward to returning one day

The atmosphere was quaint, and what I would expect from the French Quarters location. Chef Byron, was not only knowledgeable, but personable, and charming. He taught me skills that I can use in my kitchen every day. The food was delicious.

It was good to get hands on training when it comes to making roux. I also picked other cooking techniques.
