Straight to the top without waiting with pre-booked tickets and what a view! We'd done the Empire State Building before so decided on the Rockefeller. Fantastic views of the city and the Hudson, and of course the Empire State Building. The only thing letting our visit down was the long line waiting for the lifts down! Took more than 30 minutes. Once down, do not underestimate how confusing it is, many exits and it looks like a subway station/shopping center. All the same we enjoyed our visit.

This is an amazing building. Everyone we spoke to before our visit to NYC said you have to go to the Top of the Rock and we’re glad we did. Phenomenal views. Very well organised. We visited in July and I would say set aside 2 hours as you need to queue at the bottom and the top for the elevators.

Beautiful building, great art and the best view of Manhattan / Central Park. What I liked about the Rockefeller compared to Freedom Tower and Empire State was that it is outdoors but the viewing is not obscured by a cage, it is thick glass at the edge of the observation deck. I recommend the Rockefeller tour and the sun and stars ticket, we purchased ours online prior to our trip. You will need to allocate half a day. The tour guide who's name escapes me (Sorry!!) was fabulous, he had the right amount of humour and told the story / history of the building in such a way you could really imagine how it all was way back when. The only thing I didn't really like about the Rockefeller was that there was no kind of fast track or que jump, once you're in there, you're queued and that's it, you're all going the same way so.. Just keep swimming...!! The view really is worth the wait though and the gift shop has some nice things too.

Thanks for this amazing review! We're not sure when you came, but we do offer a ticket type now called an Express Pass that allows you to skip the lines and head straight to the Top. Also, we'll pass the kudos along to the tour guides, they're all good!
