Leaving at 5 am from Times Square , NYC , was quite a challenge in itself. A long day , arriving back approximately 8pm.
The trip was ok, really really rushed - as in ‘now driving past the Pentagon’ , only stopped 10 minutes (tops) at the White House and Capital Hill. Then a quick wizz past Arlington Cemetery ( did not go past Kennedy’s grave) then a walk through another cemetery with life like statues of the soldiers in the Korean War which was quite interesting. A stop at a raising of the flag with life like statues, a rush to Philadelphia on the way home. One stop at the site where the Constitution was signed, missed the amazing hall where another set of life like statues of delegates eg George Washington and 81 year old Benjamin Franklin amount others, are depicted. Lucky I had seen it on a previous trip. Then a 5 minute stop at the Philadelphia Art Gallery , made famous in the ‘Rocky’ film. All in all, ok for a wiz quick trip from NYC for a first time look. Really not suitable for children as a very long day in a bus and they get bored and miserable and cranky and upset other passengers.
