The good:
Our trip guide was great, always willing to take pics of people for them,
It was great to ride around and hear some historic tidbits, and see the monuments at night.
It’s a good way to see a lot of monuments in succession.
Cons
*There were definitely more than 40 people on our tour, even though the description says it does not allow more than 40 attendees.
* this is a coach with no seat numbers or easy way to know your exact seat when you get off and on the bus. All the seats look the same. People kept sitting in all the seats around where I knew we were sitting, even though it was hard to see the exact seat. Well that left us sitting in a different area, and I didn’t care at all! But others on the tour were getting upset about people sitting in *their* seat. This was very irritating. The tour guide at one point asked people to sit in their exact seats when they get off and on the bus. Well they either need to number the seats and assign seats based on tickets or just let people sit where they can find a seat as too many people apparently feel too strongly about this, and it made the trip a lot less pleasant.
*you don’t get super close to the Capitol Building or White House. So if you’re expecting to get closer than you could on your own, you’ll be disappointed.
*when we first arrived to get in line for the tour, I walked up to a worker because I couldn’t tell for sure if we were in the right place. Before I could even ask a question, he snapped at me to get in the back of the line. I said I just wanted to make sure we are in the right spot. He said “you are in the right spot”. I didn’t even tell him what spot I was supposed to be in or what tour I was on so how could he even know this? He was unfriendly and rude and this soured the experience for me from the start.
Conclusion:
It really is fine for what it is. If you like or don’t mind larger group tours go for it! But just know what it is before you book, and you won’t have unrealistic expectations.
