We have done the BG Christmas Town for years....Last year decided to buy the unlimited pass for 3 of us..about $680 (free general parking, 10%discount, xmas ornament which was out of stock)...The prices have gotten out of hand, as have the crowds...it took us an hour to get thru security/front gate, as the line was all the way past the tram dropoff. The number of each shows were limited, and Scrooged No More was no more. It was cancelled at the earlier showing and then disappeared from the schedule of events for the whole night.... It took almost an hour to get through the Sky ride line so my 85yr old dad could take a break from walking since we walked a distance to get to Scrooged... there were a few other shows: Twas That Night (2 showings), Merry Misfits, Gloria, Up on the Haustop, Wisemen and Celtic Trio dance troop... Which seems like alot but the schedule of the showtimes made it difficult to get across the park to them in time. And half were maybe 15 mins long and couple of hours between showings. The number of strollers and scooters was crazy too...
here are some examples of the excessive prices, exclusive of ticket price:
• $38 for general parking...$55 for preferred...something like $75 for VIP
• $16.99 for a cheese pizza that was like school cafeteria pizza in Italy...pillsbury pizza dough, jar sauce and cheap mozarellla... $17.99 for pepperoni...skip it and go to the Asia ala carte.. you can get orange chicken for $17.99.
• $22.99 Christmas dinner, which looked like a half chicken, scoop of mashed red potatoes (at least those were real and not flakes) and some overcooked veggies (couple of carrots, green and wax beans) or you could get the 3 wurst in place of chicken for $17.99
• 16.99 souvenir bottle (basic Loch Ness, not even xmas town)...,paid $31 for 2 and that was with unlimited funpass discount...only saving grace was you got to fill when buying it and first refill was free. $1.99 refills after that. The place I purchased them at had Coca-Cola freestyle machine but all others you were limited to what was on tap.
• $12+ for a 24oz soda in a basic cup
• $31 for souvenir pin to put on pass holder ribbon, that can be traded with employees wearing pins... If I paid $31 for a pin, Im certainly not trading it...not that I would pay that outrageous price in the first place.
Busch Gardens has gone downhill over the years since COVID... And with corporate greed taking over ever since being sold out to a foreign owner... Overall a forgettable abd unenjoyable experience...save your money and go somewhere else, like Universal Orlando, take a cruise....or just rent a cabin in the mountains...
