The guide for our tour was very knowledgable and passionate about the history of Chicago and how it relates to the theme of the tour. He allowed us to use his own personal "ghost tracking" equipment such as dowsing rods and electromagnetic field detectors. He also had supplemental documents related to specific sites on the tour ( i.e. the Jane Adams house ). This probably wasn't under the tour guide's control, but the tour started about 15 minutes later than scheduled due to the bus not arriving on time. The bus itself had a bathroom on board, and the smell of urine permeated throughout the tour. Besides that, we had a good experience and learned a lot about Chicago's history.

Worst ghost tour I’ve ever taken. Billed as intimate group of 12-15, nearly 40 people filed on bus for 2 hour tour. 3 hours later, returned to hotel of origin. 1st stop occupied by all day music festival. Bus parked 1/3 mile from destination and Organizer said we’d walk. Almost all passengers, including one elderly with cane and several 65+ tried to keep up with fast-walking Organizer with no Group sign or other identifier down night-time street fair attended by literally thousands of drinking revelers. Within 5 minutes Organizer and younger members had outdistanced the rear of the line and disappeared amongst street-fair goers. After 10 or more minutes wandering in general direction the left-behind caught up with group who were just leaving to return to bus. Organizer totally oblivious to well-being and safety of senior members who were desperately trying to keep up with band of total strangers in unknown City. Later, Organizer left bus with 30 or more in darkly-lit park area to City cemetery. Cell phones as flashlights along route at 9:30 at night prevented/discouraged many of us to stay on bus. Microphone so loud in bus that even fingers in the ears and hand over loudspeaker did not much reduce the sound of the Organizer. Bus A/C seemed not to function last hour or more of trip. No water offered to be sold to passengers, so that they disembarked last two stops to gain fresh air. Organizer was energetic enough about the stories he told but OBLIVIOUS to his primary duty of escorting 40 people safely to locations during tour, staying on schedule and accommodating their comfort during the tour. Had anyone fallen in the dark or stumbled on uneven sidewalks and travel paths, electric power cords and other street event potential obstacles, this “Ghost Haunt’ could have resulted in a major nightmare and these guys didn’t appear to have a clue!

Hi and thank you so much for your review. The tour you were on was a tough one indeed. I am sorry that Tony, our guide, was not more attentive. He was dealing with the driver of the bus company, who was being abusive to the elderly guests on our tour. And you are right, the mictophone and A/C stunk too. We made the mistake of trying a new company that reached out to us, and it was just that--a mistake. We pride ourselves on our tours, and Tony is the very best there is. I am sorry he was so deeply distracted and I blame myself as the owner for this. Please contact me.

tony is a great story teller. Chicago traffic never cooperates so lot of time riding but the opportunity to get off at the sites and use the equipment really adds to the experience. Had a great time and enjoyed the snacks provided by the M&M bus driver.
