Adventure through Shell Key Preserve in your 100% clear kayak! See crystal-clear water, diverse marine life, and the underwater world below your clear kayak.

You’ll paddle along mangroves, enjoy white sand beaches and sandbars, and explore a secluded beach. If the tide is high, your guide will lead the way through a hidden mangrove tunnel. Shell Key Preserve is located in Tierra Verde, FL near St. Pete Beach in the Tampa Bay area.

Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, manatees, pelicans, crabs, and more while enjoying the preserve’s picturesque mangroves, beaches, and sandbars. Be on the lookout for a manatee or the beautiful pink Roseate Spoonbills in the summer months. White Pelicans call the sandbars of Shell Key Preserve their home during the winter months! Throughout the year, dolphins frolic in the crystal-clear waters and cormorants love to swim alongside your kayak. Chances are that you’ll see a variety of wildlife, but sightings are random and not guaranteed.

We had an absolutely amazing time on the Clear Kayak Tour of Shell Key Preserve! The experience was incredible from start to finish. The clear kayaks gave us a unique, up-close view of the beautiful waters and marine life below. Our tour guide Lyss was fantastic—so knowledgeable about the area’s wildlife and ecosystem. It made the whole tour feel both educational and enjoyable. One of the highlights of the tour was when we found sand dollars on shell key island—such a special and exciting moment for our family!

We had so much fun! This was our second time doing this tour and we wanted to take our family there when they came in to visit. Less was an amazing guide, very sweet and knowledgeable. She found some really cool sea creatures and also pointed out different birds including a more rare species. We also went through the mangroves . We would highly recommend this tour! We ate lunch at Billy’s Crab restaurant right in parking lot before hand and we would also highly recommend making this part of your trip.
