Wycieczka Ghost On the Strand Ghost

Przegląd
Galveston has seen a horrifying number of sudden deaths. An ungodly number of the islands dearly departed, well never departed. Their spirits are lurking in the shadows, alleys, staircases and stalk THE STRAND every day! The historic 19th century buildings on THE STRAND have become ghost sanctuaries. And the ghosts inside are just dying to meet you.

Join us on our 90 minute walking tour as we explore the fascinating paranormal happenings on the strand, the original street of horror. Hurricanes, war, fire, and epidemics! The pirate Jean Lafitte even turned the island into a den of thieves. Galveston has more ghosts than any other city in U.S.

Walking in the night, translucent figures will float by the windows. Shadows will suddenly appear and objects move of their own accord as we huddle closer to one another for are mutual protection. We never know what’s waiting for us around the corners. Beware and be scared! After all Galveston is nothing but “a cemetery with a beach attached.”

Muzeum Kolei Galveston
W szczytowym okresie ta stacja kolejowa widziała ponad 40 000 ludzi dziennie w drodze do barów, kasyn i burdeli Galveston. Inżynier o nazwisku William Watson zabawiał przechodzące tłumy, stając na rękach na osłonie silników. Pewnego niefortunnego dnia POślizgnął się i został natychmiast ścięty. Czapka typu derby nadal pewnie tkwiła na głowie, którą znaleźli O MILĘ DALEJ!

Czekając na odpowiedź WIELKA BURZA zburzyła wyspę i wyniosła trumnę Karola na morze. Płynął z Galveston do Prince Albert Sound, zanim w końcu dotarł do lądu… O MILĘ OD MIEJSCA, KTÓREGO CHARLES MIAŁ PRZEJŚĆ NA EMERYTURĘ!

At its height this railroad station saw over 40,000 people a day on their way to Galveston's bars, casinos and brothels. An engineer by the name of William Watson would entertain the passing crowds by doing handstands on the cattle guard of the engines. One unfortunate day he SLIPPED and was immediately decapitated. A derby hat was still securely sitting on the head they found A MILE AWAY!

What to do with this distinguished visitor’s body? While waiting for the answer THE GREAT STORM demolished the island and carried Charles coffin out to sea. It floated from Galveston to Prince Albert Sound before it finally made land…ABOUT A MILE FROM WHERE CHARLES WAS GOING TO RETIRE!

This was quite a lame tour. We started the "tour" one block from the train museum, walked 1/2 block past the museum, then back to finish the tour across the street from our starting point. A whole 3 blocks in a straight line. Thomas, our guide pointed out Ike's High Water markers and 1900 storm markers on a building and told a little history of the 1900 storm. Then we walked to the museum. He told a story about a girl who jumped out a window. then we walked 1/2 block alongside the museum. Here he tediously dragged out a story about a boy and another about a mom and son who were all three run over by a train. He went into great detail about why the red-light district was so named. Then we walked back and finished up the tour across the street from where we started. Here he told us a little more about the 1900 storm. The end. Galveston has a truly rich ghost history, especially along the Strand, this tour did not come even close to doing that history justice! For our $125. this tour was a complete bust! 1/10 Do Not Recommend.
