If you're looking for an authentic lowcounty experience look no further than Daufuskie Island on your next trip to Hilton Head. It's only a 30 minute Ferry ride from Harbour Town but it will feel like you stepped back in time when you arrive!

Along the way to Daufuskie Island you will hear tails of this sea islands past from your naturalist captain. This trip allows 3-hours on Daufuskie Island. One of the most popular things to do when arrive is a self guided golf cart tour.

3-hour golf cart rentals will be available for purchase upon arrival to the island. There are 4-seater golf carts available to rent.

Make sure to visit the Daufuskie Island Crab Company for lunch before you leave.

Three of us booked a small ferry ride to Daufuskie Island from Hilton Head Island. We had bit of trouble finding the correct parking area for the ferry. There were about 12 others on the ferry, but it was not at all crowded. It took close to a full hour to get there. When we arrived, our golf cart was ready for us at the general store. It was a very new, very clean cart. We enjoyed our five hours on the island, touring the area by cart and seeing the historical sites. The only disappointment was that most of the other passengers failed to return to the ferry at the specified time, and the captain had to locate them (at the outside bar at a nearby restaurant), which caused a half hour delay in departure. I don't understand how paying guests can be so inconsiderate, but it was not the fault of Vagabond. The trip back was pleasant and quicker than the morning trip. I would definitely use this company agai.

We went to Daufuaski island. We are spending the holiday season on Hilton Head and wanted to see this place. The crew was great and very helpful. The captain gave a talk about everything we saw on the way and a lot about the island. We had a great time.

Complete disregard for coronavirus rules. On our ferry return it began to rain. I began to get wet and wanted to go side to a small sitting area where the bar/snack area is. To my dismay there 5 people in there all talking without masks. It says clearly in a posting on the door that masks are required inside this room per the mandate of the Hilton Head mayor. The crew advised me that the owner of the boat operates by his own rules and couldn’t care less about the safety rules. The crew only cares about their paychecks not the rules. So I went back outside and continued to get rained on. I would never get on this boat again and condemn the owner for his irresponsible attitude. Beware!
