Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

What an amazing adventure to experience all that Icy Straight Point has to offer. From experiencing a brown bear on the coast, sea lions and sea otters, and saving the best for last so many humpback whales along with a mom and her new calf. Can’t say enough for the experience and all of the knowledge that Joardan has to share. If you want a true experience from a local expert, I would highly recommend Hoonah Whale Tours. I will be recommending this experience to many people: Once in a lifetime! Thanks

We're so glad we chose Hoonah Whale Tours. We were looking for a laid back and intimate experience rather than a "cattle boat". We've been on tours in the past in which it felt like the operators were just checking off the boxes to deliver the bare minimum (if that). Joardan was the opposite. He was determined to deliver the best possible experience, and we always felt that he was going the extra mile for us. He accepts a minimum of six guests, which means that there is a lot of freedom in where to sit or stand, both inside and outside the cabin. We couldn't be happier. Highly recommended!

This tour company was able to accommodate us when the ship tours could not. The friendly customer service was outstanding. On the tour, our local guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He strove to be sure that we had a great experience. The tour was group was small and the boat was not crowded. It made the experience so pleasant.
