Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

When out on our whale watching tour you will be in Icy Strait (body of water) You will get to see humpback whales (guaranteed!), sea lion, sea otter, and bald eagles. You even have the chance of seeing brown bear along the beaches, orcas and puffins flying by.

We originally booked with a another company who was sold out and recommended Hoonah Whale Tours. We ended up the only couple on board. Jordon and his wife are so nice, they even baked us blueberry muffins as a snack. We had a really nice time with Jordon looking for whales and learning about the wonderful town of a Hoonah. He can accommodate up to 6 passengers comfortably. We highly recommend this tour company. We booked this on our own, not from the cruise ships tours which were packed with people. Ps- the cabin is heated so you wouldn't need as many layers if your inside. There is a bathroom on board as well.

Mariyah and Jordan are so friendly and awesome! Would book with them again absolutely! They do things right and the right way! Everything promised was delivered, saw lots of whales!

Stopped via cruise ship at Icy Point. Had booked this company on recommendation of another company who didn't have space for our family of 4. So glad we did. Very organized and professional. Picked up at cruise ship pier by Maraiya and driven to town. (only 5 minutes) Captain Jordan was there waiting for us and off we went immediately. This is the tour to book if you don't want to be out on a boat with 50-75 other people all trying to get close to the railing for a photo. This boat only takes 6 people and every view is a great view. Very clean and comfortable. Jordan headed in a different direction then other boats out there and before long we had humpbacks breaching right beside our boat and the other boats came a motoring over.Beautiful sunny day. Saw 2 bears as well. Maraiya took us back to the cruise ship terminal. We enjoyed her information about the town and area.
