Shoot New York City

This is a private tour. My tours are designed for those who want to discover New York City, with or without camera. Included are historical, architectural and cultural information about the city. As well, suggestions are offered about how to get around town or other places you might want to visit while you’re here. Photos documenting your tour can also be included. For photo tours (beginners to advanced) assistance is provided on camera use, techniques and photographic opportunities to achieve the best shot. Genres include (but are not limited to) urban landscapes, graffiti and street photography. I specialize in customized tours to suit your specific interests and any of the sample tours can be modified or we can start from scratch.

this course was not what I was expecting - it was so much more! i thought I might be given a guide to the best places to take photos in NYC but what I got was an introduction into the art and philosophy behind Leanne’s approach to street photography - i don’t want to spoil anything by going into too much detail but essentially if you have any interest in this area then you really should do one of her courses - i can honestly say it has changed my approach to the way i shoot pretty much from the ground up New York is the most photogenic city in the world and as a result there are more than enough photos of all the famous landmarks ( that’s not to say there isn’t always a new way to capture them) but what is ever-changing is the cast of characters that populate this amazing place and for me that’s the exciting aspect of photography - capturing an entirely unique moment that tells its own story Leanne is great company too - funny, instructive and always alive to what might make a great photo without imposing her own view or being prescriptive in how to approach the medium If you have the time and you’re interested in taking pictures this course is essential

Our tour with Leanne was the highlight of our trip to New York City despite the unexpected heat wave! We learnt so much about what it is to be a New Yorker and took in all the sights of the Lower East Side. We loved learning about street art. Added to this our children aged 12 and 14 loved the photography tips and we have more holiday photos than we know what to do with. Leanne kindly gave the boys some postcards with her photos on which were stuck on bedroom walls within an hour of returning home. What more can I say! THANKS Leanne!

I really enjoyed the tour with Leanne. Leanne is very knowledgeable of the city and gave real insight into what it is like to be a New Yorker. It was a very wet day but that did not stop the photography. Leanne was flexible on where we shot and was open to any recommendations. As a beginner street photographer, I felt at ease shooting in the streets with Leanne's advice and experience. I would recommend this tour to anybody who is interested in street photography and wants a more personalized tour of New York. Thanks again, Leanne!
