The overall experience was memorable, but there were some aspects that could be improved. The waiting time was too long—we gathered at 6:20 PM as instructed, but didn’t board the small boat until nearly 7 PM, even though no one was late. Once on the boat, it felt quite crowded. This tour is not recommended if you’re not a strong swimmer. The waves were big, and the water was very dark, making it quite challenging. Staying still in the water for almost 30 minutes was also cold, especially when returning to the boat. Overall, we did see two manta rays up close, and they were huge and mesmerizing to watch as they swam gracefully near us.

FYI - Family of 4, 2 kiddos and 2 parents. Parents stayed on the boat while the kiddos (15 and 11) went in to see the Mantas. Paid 360$ all in w/o wet suits. Now the fun part - My kids had a blast! They saw the mantas. A manta came within 2 inches of my older one. And, my younger one was busy seeing the Manta but also asking the in-the-water-guide Jordan a bunch of questions which he patiently answered :-) The crew, Bill, Jordan, and Shay, are top notch. They were patient, encouraging, attentive to safety of all in our party, and just outright awesome. Jake at the truck was helpful, too, with his advise. I read reviews here suggesting that they felt like they had to rent wetsuits for 10$ to feel warm in the water going by what they were told at the truck. Well, that was not our experience. We were recommended that our kids will be fine without a wet suit since water was 75F that night. So, our experience was very positive. Great people, but my special thanks to crew on the boat for making it the best experience for my kiddos. Although there was a 45 min wait to get on the boat because they were running late that night, what followed once we're on the boat made up for that!

Great trip, this is a “gotta do”. Boat crew was fantastic, guy in the van was a bit grumpy (ok a jerk). He snapped at us for showing up 5 minutes early and asking if suits were included (ironically we got an automated text AFTER our trip saying “Don’t show up early, suits are $10”). I think they assume travelers know which operator to go to, but there are a half dozen “Manta night snorkel” trips at the marina and Viator/TripAdvisor confirmation does not provide a clear title on which company to look for. Again these are suggestions for the operators… the experience is definitely worth it.
