Przegląd

We carry a maximum of 12 passengers so we can offer a more intimate manta ray snorkel experience than the larger "cattle boats" in Kona.

In addition to delivering a more private experience, our small group size allows for a better manta ray show. Your swim guide will tow your party to the most active areas of the snorkel site, as you hold onto a light board and enjoy the show. Larger groups on bigger boats are often required to stay next to the boat, and can't chase the manta ray action as we do. By locating the most active areas of the snorkel site, you'll have a higher chance of seeing more manta rays.

If you book all 12 seats on any trip, you will have your own private charter.

First trip with Karl and Sian was a morning Dolphin snorkel. Karl captained the boat and spotted the dolphins for us, while Sian was in the water making sure we didn't miss any of the action. This is a small boat with capacity of six passengers, the experience of being on a small boat made this an exceptional adventure. We had friends take snorkel tours with bigger companies (20 plus passengers) and they had a terrible time! We were in the water for about 2 hours and were surrounded by over 150 dolphins the entire time. Amazing! Karl and Sian made us feel like family. I can't swim AT ALL, but Sian made sure I was comfortable at all times, in fact he towed me around the bay on a boogie board for most of the time so that I didn't miss out. A couple of nights later we were back with Karl and Sian on a nighttime manta ray snorkel adventure. Again, they both made us feel right at home with their hospitality, exceptional skill and knowledge. Manta Ray viewing spots can get pretty crowded but Sian made sure that the guests of other companies gave us plenty of room to enjoy the experience. Again, Sian towed us to where all the action was. Amazing experience, one of the highlights of our trip! Next time we're in Kona we will definitely go with Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures and ask for Karl and Sian by name! All gear is provided and any level of swimmer (or non-swimmer) will feel comfortable, snacks and beverages are provided. The macadamia nut brownies were great! One last thing... don't forget your sunscreen! Thanks guys!!!

My daughter and I spent a morning with Captain Karl, Erin and Gina and had a great time snorkeling with spinner dolphins. Though the dolphins were moving quite a bit that day we were able to stay with them and had a wonderful time. We were also able to spend time snorkeling over a lovely reef. That same night I went again with Snorkel Reef Adventures on a Manta Ray trip. Seeing the manta rays inches from your face was an amazing experience. Though the thought of snorkeling at night at first sounded intimidating I realized all I had to do was hang on to a lighted float and enjoy the experience. I would highly recommend both of these trips. It's nice to be on a smaller boat and be able to get on and off a boat with ease and not with a lot of other customers. Only 6 people go out on each trip so it's very comfortable. Also at the end of each adventure was the treat of a lovely homemade brownie.

We visited Kona for 3 nights January 23-26, 2013 and our intention was to snorkel with the Manta Rays. On the advise of family who did this previously with Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures we went out with them. They have a 27' boat and take out only 6 snorkellers on their trips. Our guide on the Manta trip(s) yes we went twice was Shawn and our Captain was Carl. They were great, informative, and took really good care of us. The trip started at 5:30 pm meeting at the Harbour for the usual paper work. The ride to the Manta Ray spot we went to both times was about 25 minutes and along the way we saw Humpback whales and took some time to stop and check them out. We arrived at the spot just before dark and that is where we had our debriefing about the Manta rays and what not to do. There are other boats that go there who in our opinion take too many people Our trip was perfect with our small group. After the manta debriefing, we were fitted with wetsuits, fins and snorkel gear and when it was dark enough and the mantas started to show we jumped into the water to hang onto an apparatus built on a surfboard to hold lights with tubing all around it for the 6 of us to hand on to while Shawn took us to the mantas. It was truly like being in starwars with lights on top of the water and on the bottom where the divers sat or laid down to watch from below. We also did the morning snorkell trip with the dolphins in the wild. Captain Ron and Jessica were our crew and we were the only 2 on the boat with them. We came upon a few smaller pods and managed to get in the water and swim with them and take some great pictures. All in all - this company takes great care of you all the way. And at the end of the trip you get a home made macadamia nut brownie - yum yum! A lady named Martina Wing is a manta expert and she visits the boats and takes video of everyone in the water interacting with the mantas. She sells her work at the end of the parking lot following the trip. We bought the DVD and it is fabulous. We can`t say enough about this company and how well we were taken care of. Great trip and we will be back next year! Chris & Bruce
