Absolutely enjoyed this cruise. Although it rained, it was nice and cosy on the inside and was able to enjoy the scenery. Meares Glacier was amazing! Chris, our boat pilot, narrated the tour and shared interesting information during the entire cruise. I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Valdez.

We took a cruise on the Valdez Spirit from Whittier to Valdez and saw Meares Glacier along the way. I cannot say enough great things about every aspect of this cruise. We expected that it would just consist of transportation between the two cities, but it ended up being an incredibly relaxing and eventful cruise! The crew was so knowledgeable and friendly and welcomed passengers into the bridge to ask questions and take in the impressive views. The captain gave interesting and easy to understand commentary throughout the trip, pointing out geologic features, historical context and wildlife along the way. The crew remained enthusiastic and energetic throughout the 6-hour trip despite it being their second cruise of the day. They even let passengers borrow their binoculars for a better view! The Valdez Spirit was so well maintained and clean, and the crew even cleaned the windows throughout the cruise to ensure good views of the stunning Prince William Sound on either side. We saw several types of wildlife throughout the journey including humpback whales, otters, seals and porpoises. At every sighting, the crew would point out the animals to the passengers while maintaining a safe distance and the comfort of the wildlife. The wildlife was absolutely stunning and seeing a pod of porpoises race the boat is something I will never forget. Once again, one of the best experiences in Alaska so far! Bravo to the crew! Thank you for a great trip!

Despite a rainy, foggy day, Stan Stephens Tour of Meares Glacier was wonderful. We saw Orcas, sea otters, sea lions, eagles and of course the glacier. We were lucky enough to catch a small calfing off the glacier just as we arrived. Bagels and chicken dinner aboard the boat were a plus. We travelled with our adult children (Not teens but there were many on board enjoying the day)
