We received instructions by email to check in at the boat. The email specifically states do not go to the sales booth, so we followed suit only to be told 5 minutes before the scheduled departure that we had to collect tickets at the sales booth. The line at the booth was long, so by the time we hit the window, we were past our boarding time. These people dared to charge us 15 dollars per person for a so call rebooking fee. The boat’s departure was severally delayed but not by our party. As I mentioned, there were a lot of people buying tickets for the same tour as much as 20 minutes after the scheduled 6:30 departure. I reluctantly accepted to pay the late checking fee ($90), but these people not even have a card reader at the window, they made me call a number to pay over the phone, and it took another 10 minutes and intervention from them for the people in the phone to pick up. The idiot that answered the phone couldn’t give a damn about our situation. I explained how unfair these fees were. We did what the email told us to do. I politely asked her to see if she could waive the fee, but that inept didn’t acknowledge what I was saying or offer an apology for not being able to help us. She ignored what I was saying and cut me off saying: “it’s $90. What is the card number?” In sum, pre-boarding was horrible: these people are disorganized, they are not on time, customer service is non-existing, and their lack of technology is remarkable. On board, the experience was lackluster. The tour guide was drunk and blurring out words we couldn’t understand. He spoke a word in English and repeated it in Spanish. Hard to follow along and understand. Someone should train these guys to say a whole sentence in one language and then translate for the non-English speaking guests with another complete sentence. “Hello, hola, welcome, bienvenido, this is a boat, este es un bote” imagine 90 minutes of that array of languages. Annoying. The music mostly catered to Spanish-speaking people. They say it was a nonsmoking boat, but the crew would lock themselves in the cabin for a few puffs. To summarize it all, if you are on a budget and can only afford these people, go with them. But do not buy on Trip Advisor, buy from them and make sure to be there one hour before with your tickets on hand if you don’t want to be penalized, whether your fault or not, for their lack of good directions and organization. If you can afford something better, never choose these people. I ended up paying 300 dollars for six people, for a 90min tour they advertise for $29.99. Not worth it.
