Our family of 5 took the 6-hour tour with the "Tall Guy with the Long Hair and Glasses" (TOM) . This was our only day in NYC, as we were on a long road trip on the North East Coast. We arrived about 15 minutes early and approached a guy standing by the designated statue and asked if he was giving tours. He checked my name off the list and we waited around for the designated start time. If was very overwhelming to small town folks to be in the MIDDLE of TIME SQUARE!!!
New York City is an Amazing Place! This tour gave us a small glimpse of many of the iconic areas. Tom was a great tour guide. He always made sure everyone in the group made it safely across the street, or onto the subway, or onto the boat. He was very concerned about all of us.
Tom was also considerate and kind. For lunch we were in an area with many restaurants. Tom gave us an hour and some recommendations for places to eat. Unfortunately the pizza place we chose had terrible customer service and we walked out after waiting for our cheese pizza and Cesar salads for 45 minutes. We found another place to grab some burgers quick. Tom came to check on us when we were supposed to continue with the tour. We explained the situation and he said he would give us an extra few minutes to eat.
The tour ended near the 9/11 Memorial. We needed to get back to where the tour started to get our car from the parking garage. Tom was gracious enough to take the Subway back with us and explain exactly what spot to get off at and how to get going in the right direction back to our car.
I was a bit concerned about the amount of walking that would be required. A few of my family members are not in shape. While there was a lot of walking, it was broken up into sections, so we all survived!
Overall a GREAT way to see so much of New York in 6 hours. Big shout out to Tom for his kindness, patience and knowledge. He provide a lot of information and kept all of us interested in facts and stories. I especially enjoyed getting the real inside information about Times Square and New Years Eve Ball Drop. Thanks Tom for Everything!!
