The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

This was my second visit up the tramway and my husbands first. We truly enjoyed the scenery, fresh crisp air and having lunch afterwards. A veteran tram rider friend joined us for the excursion?

Great views from the mountaintop, especially as the sun set. But the bar was quite pricey, the wait staff was surly and the gourmet restaurant didn't appear to have a view of the valley. Plus, parking is $8 before you get into the venue to ask questions. However, it's really fun! Going from the valley to the mountaintop, walking/hiking in the state park, looking at the lights in the valley below - all way cool.

I’m afraid of heights so I want sure how I would manage. Let me just say the experience was well worth the trip! Every one of the staff we came in contact with were friendly & helpful. The views are indescribably beautiful. The restaurant was under construction so we dined in another area that was quite nice. The food is good & they even had a decent wine selection. Walking the trail was a bit tricky since they had 3 inches of new snow. The snow did make the scenery even more spectacular. We loved every minute of this experience. PS We’d been scheduled for the day before and they closed due to heavy fog & snow. Even the security guards at the road closure were super helpful. Someone actually called us to inform us of the closure & give instructions on how to proceed. This place is well managed!
