Viator debited on my credit card 78 USD. However the driver showed us an application to prove that we would only be charged 65 USD and that therefore we would have to pay him the difference for the 78 USD plus the tip.
So we paid 111 USD 13 dollars more, plus the tip 20 USD for a transfer from Newark to Manhattan Chelsea.
The car that picked us up after having to phase ne twice was not roadworthy. The driver was in firstly clothing, he had to remove rubbish from the front seat so that I could actually sit down. Once inside the car, it was filthy. We then headed towards Manhattan at 30 mpg. We soon found the reason for this slow mileage and the reason the driver avoided the expressways - the hood of the car was flapping in the wind. Once this was brought to his attention, a mile or so further on he pulled over on to the chevron dividers for two roads, got out then jumped on the hood to try and close it. It stayed closed for a few miles but then started flapping again. The passenger wing mirror was missing. The journey took 1 hour 20 minutes from JFK to our hotel in Manhattan. A taxi my two friends and I hope never to get into again.. This car should not be on the road never mind carrying passengers. Very unhappy customers. My recommendation is get the train it is cheaper and much quicker.
Great service. Arrived on time and driver negotiated a different route so we wouldn't have to pay a toll.
