Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

Herb was an amazing host! His knowledge of the area's flora and fauna made the experience extremely valuable to my partner and I. We felt safe at all times and Herb was able to answer every question we could possible ask about the canyon and the surrounding area of Moab. We had so much fun and there was never a dull moment!

We loved our half day canyoneering adventure with Kiera. Only one of the four of us had tried it before. So as (mostly) first timers we were a little nervous but Kiera quickly had our complete trust. We all agreed even though we had some great adventures during our 7 days in Utah we liked our canyoneering adventure the best. We highly recommend Desert Highlights and their wonderful staff.
