Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

We had an amazing trip to Entrajo Canyon. We canyoneered with our 10 and 7 year old boys, and our guide Kai did an amazing job of keeping us all safe while catering the trip to our wide range of ages and abilities. Our 7 year old rappelled a smaller drop by himself then Kai helped him do a longer drop in tandem with me. All four of us had an exciting adventure. I highly recommend Desert Highlights and Kai is the best!

Melissa is the absolute best! She spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone trying to research and figure out the perfect trip for my family. The Medieval Chamber trip we chose was so perfect with an easy approach, two awesome rappels, and just the right amount of hiking out. Views were out of this world and the experience was so unique. None of us had ever done this before. But we all felt very safe the whole time with Melissa and all the measures she took to keep us feeling secure! She also pointed out all kinds of wildflowers, geological features, and edible berries/flowers on our hike. Will definitely be back.
