On our Secret Food Tour: San Francisco, the Mission District, you'll see how immigrants shaped the neighborhood by creating brilliant artwork, beautiful architecture and sharing their fantastic food! Originally home to Irish, German, and Italian immigrants, it is now the epicenter of San Francisco's Latino culture.

The Mission District is full of vibrant murals that offer a visual history lesson featuring themes ranging from cultural heritage to social-political statements. We will take a stroll through the neighborhood to get an up-close experience.

Our tours are more than just the food. Our local guides connect the dots between history, culture, and cuisine to provide you with a deep understanding of the Mission District's thriving culinary scene!

Kathy is an EXCELLENT and knowledgeable guide...her passion for the city shined through as she took us on a 3 hour walk through the Mission neighborhood, sharing a lot of information and an AMAZING variety of foods. We had Mexican (paired with a red blend), Filipino, Chinese, Clam Chowder (paired with a Chardonnay), and for dessert, a fantastic ice cream was served with a cookie from an Italian bakery and a small pour of port. The dessert was served in Dolores Park, which gave us a beautiful view of the entire city. This is our second time in San Francisco, and our tour of the Mission area was by far the most fun and educational activity we've done. We've been on many walking food tours in New York City and Chicago, and the portions and variety of food that we were served today is greater than all of the others.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Charlotte today. She selected delicious food ranging from Mission style burritos to amazing ice cream and everything in between. The tour was informative and it was interesting to see both the old and the new features of the Mission District.

San Francisco can be overwhelming especially if your time is limited there. Traveling with friends who have done many food tours, we experienced our first, led by Charlotte. Walking through Mission Street with her gave us a perspective we never could have enjoyed. The tour covered many great small plate stops of different cultures and food (and wine) varieties. You don't need lunch after this attraction! Cudos to this group and Charlotte in particular. Great job! Forget hopping on and off, this is a great way to experience a section of San Fran.
