After fortunately deciding not to drive the Road to Hana ourselves, we had the good fortune to have Gayle as our driver and expert guide. Gayle handled the challenges of the road masterfully while providing entertaining background on the area and Hawaii. The sites along the Road to Hana are breathtaking no matter how you see them, but Gayle’s expertise provided the benefits of visiting popular spots at times when other tour groups were less likely to crowd the sites. That provided sufficient time that allowed the 7 persons in our tour group that rode in the very comfortable van to both take in the natural beauty of the Road to Hana and to take photographs. A truly memorable experience over approximately 10&1/2 hours from early morning pickup at our Kaanapali hotel until our dropoff near sunset at the hotel.

We made a tour of several islands in our three week trip, and Maui was last. Friends had told us to call these folks for the Hana Road tour because if driving,mtge driver doesn’t get to see much. We took their advice and we’re delighted. The van held six, in very comfy seats with wide windows. Our guide/driver, Gayle , knew lots of things to see that we would never have found. She was very knowledgeable about the area, the history of Hawaii, with lots of anecdotes. She made extra stops so we could all get great photos. And gave us a very good al fresco lunch. It was a long day, but we’ll worth the time!

We booked this trip based on Fodors recommendation and were more than pleased. The captain chair seats were comfortable (only six guests per van) and views from the windows were great. Our guide and driver, Gayle, gave detailed, informative, and often humorous explanations of the area, its people, and the history of Hawaii. She knew where to go and when, so to avoid the crowds as much as possible. The waterfalls and beach stops were gorgeous, swimming in the falls was fun (but cold), the lava tube was neat, and the picnic lunch delicious. I had booked the trip the day before as we were preparing to fly to Maui. On the reservation form, I explained my complex food allergy. Within minutes, a pleasant lady called and discussed the ingredients of each menu item in the lunch stop. She explained how they would modify the food, so that I did not need to bring my own food. This was treatment I did not expect and don't often get. I highly recommend Temptation Tours.
