Experience the Sonoma wine region in a unique way – on a San Francisco-style trolley, for an open-air ride through rustic, sun-kissed Sonoma Valley. Stop at 3 different wineries to sip and swirl fine Northern California varietals. This open-air trolley will let you experience the picturesque vineyards like no other tour. On this tour, your friendly and knowledgeable guide will take you to three wineries for tastings. You will visit Sonoma's top historic landmarks and enjoy lunch during one of the scenic stops. The tour starts at 10:00 and and ends around 4:30.

Must be 21 years or older to take this tour.

Your day in California wine country starts as you hop aboard the Sonoma Wine Trolley, modeled after the famous historical cable cars of San Francisco. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable tour guide whisks you off to four outstanding Sonoma-area wineries, known for both their wines and their hospitality. Each wine tasting takes place at the winery and a representatives at each winery will explain the different varietals you’ll sample and the background of the wineries (wine tasting fees are not included and you can expect fees of $30 to $40). There will be wonderful photo opportunities on this tour and your friendly guide will be happy to take a photo or two of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country.

Did not have the "Trolley" experience as it was broken, nonetheless the tour was very informative. Unfortunately it was just too long, 2-3 wineries would have been great, 4 was just too much. The Ravenswood Winery was the best, very informative and the wines were good.

Thank you for the feedback and our apologies for the mechanical issues. With any older car or truck, they sometimes need a little tender care. We have looked carefully at all the tours in the valley and to stay competitive we have to provide 4 tour stops on the tour.

The Sonoma Valley Wine Tralley takes you to 4 wineries (tastings not included); 2 in the morning, then lunch (included), 2 in the afternoon. Our group met at the trolley and our driver/guide gave us a little history lesson and walked us around the square and the Mission in downtown Sonoma. The trolley took us to 4 wineries where we had tours and tastings. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Fun people in our group (about 20 total). Laughing and talking with them was a highlight of the day for me. We did a group picture in front of the trolley at the end of our tour. This is a great way to visit a few wineries in one day without having to deal with driving. Highly recommended it!!

Thank you for the review. The tour is sometimes dependent on who is on the tour with you. In some cases an unhappy person will just bring the rest of the group down. And then of course they will write a review and blame everything else. However when the tour has wonderfully friendly and happy people like yours did, there is no way it can be a bad day. Laughter is the key to everything. Thanks.

My sister and I visited Sonoma for the first time last week, and were looking forward to touring some of the wineries there. We scheduled a wine trolley excursion for our first full day in Sonoma. There were problems with the trolley, so we were picked up in a large luxury tour van/bus. While the trolley might have been fun, the van was very nice and comfortable. At the first winery (Ravenswood) we were given a fantastic tour of the vineyards and our guide provided us with a lot of fascinating information about the growing process. Our tastings were right out in the vineyards! At the second winery (Buena Vista), we learned about the process of making and aging the wine (and the interesting history of the winery and its founder). The third winery stop, Imagery, was a more traditional wine tasting, but the staff was courteous, helpful, and answered our questions. My sister and I prefer white wines over reds, and they changed the wines which were to be tasted to satisfy our preference. The final winery is a small, family owned winery where we learned about bottling and tasted great wine. The wine trolley is a tremendous value, and by far the best part of our visit to Sonoma.
