When it comes to Colorado whitewater, hardly anyone knows about the San Miguel River. Which is kind of a surprise! Given how much fun it is, on top of being in proximity to bougie and beloved Telluride.

The rafting section is gorgeously scenic, exciting for all experience levels, and pretty much a must if you want to spend the morning like a local. Its red sandstone canyon juxtaposed by flourishing pine forests make for a picturesque setting to recreate on this Rocky Mountain river.

Anyone who loves the outdoors will have an absolute hoot on this tour, whether it’s your first or hundredth time rafting. Just ask our guides, most— if not all!— will agree that the San Miguel is their favorite river to run.

THIS WAS THE BEST!!!!! I had a little trouble with the reservation when I arrived but Hannah quickly had it ironed out and I was on the River in no time. She and the other guide, Bananas, made it a perfect ride. The support staff seamlessly worked with the guides to deal with the equipment, the boats and transporting us. You can feel a family vibe between them and they make sure you feel like part of the family by the end of the day. The cherry on top was pictures and video from different stages of the ride that the staff downloaded right to my phone at the end free of charge. BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT!

Noah was a knowledgeable, skilled and personable guide. The rafting trip was fun and family friendly. I live locally and would take friends here again when they come to town.

We loved the morning Upper San Miguel rafting trip even more than the lower half, and that says a lot since we thoroughly enjoyed the lower half afternoon experience. The rapids were so fun, and the scenery was breathtaking. Our guide, Rio, made sure we were safe and felt comfortable. He was encouraging and made the trip so enjoyable from start to finish. His patience and care for each person in the boat was noticeable immediately. We cannot recommend this trip and this company more highly. They are so thorough and make the experience a blast!
