This excursion was run smoothly by an attentive crew. The pre-trip email instructions provided good information. Lack of parking in the lot near the boat was a small issue though. The lot was full when we arrived around 8:45 AM for our 9:30 departure. However, there was plenty of parking a short walk away on the opposite (west) side of the pier near the food trucks for a reasonable fee paid by app. A public restroom is available in the park across the driveway from the boat. Crew members were present at the boat when we arrived around 9 AM. We boarded on-time around 9:30, received some boat safety instructions and were given our snorkels, masks and fins, and then were on our way. I took a sea-sickness pill about an hour beforehand, but the water was relatively calm that day; I don't think it was really necessary. The boat ride was a short 15-20 minutes. Basic snorkeling instructions and turtle viewing etiquette were presented along the way. Those with snorkeling experience went into the water as soon as we arrived, and those needing some snorkeling advice remained on the boat for some brief tutoring. There were plenty of fish of various types, and I enjoyed swimming among them between sightings of turtles. A guide led us to find turtles, which were scattered around the area and not visible from a distance because the water was not completely clear that day. A second crew member sat on a board to watch out for surfacing turtles and also as a lifeguard; having her there was also helpful to orient location after snorkeling for a while. During the hour in the water, I saw 7 or 8 turtles. Three were on the bottom in a shallower part of the reef, and the rest were at or near the surface. There were three boats in the area with groups of snorkelers, including ours, so there were quite a few bodies in the water trying to get near surfacing turtles. Seeing the turtles near the surface took some effort to get into position for a good view, but it was amazing to be in the water with such a great view of them at the surface and when they were diving. After an hour in the water, we climbed back on the boat. Snacks and beverages were available. I appreciated having some drinking water to wash the saltiness out of my mouth. This excursion was pleasant and fun. The crew members were helpful, friendly, and did their best to ensure a good, safe time.

The crew were so experienced and helpful for people with lots of snorkeling past experiences and those less experienced. We were able to spot not many but several turtles. The sun was mild and the temperature was good. I would recommend the tour to those interested in seeing sea turtles in person and looking forward to snorkeling in the sea.
