A Safe and Tranquil Taste of the Wailua River

This three-hour guided tour is a wonderful paddling adventure for the whole family, idyllic paddling on the Wailua River Great panoramic scenery with the landscape and natural history genuinely and safely explained by your water borne guide.

The Wailua River became the center of activity for early Hawaiians and is known as one of Hawaii’s two most sacred places.

At night, it is said that one can still hear ancient drums thunder in concert with the nearby surf. This tour is perfect for those who want a “taste” of this wonderful river.

Aloha Erin, We offer the Paddle Only approach to the Wailua river during the winter when the days are shorter. If we did not have the falls, the Wailua River would still be a nice, scenic and tranquil way to spend a few hours. Glad you enjoyed Sarah and hope you will keep paddling. Happy Holidays. Micco

We got lost negotiating the way to Kayak Kauai, and one of the staff called us to help us negotiate temporary road closures, so we wouldn't miss the trip. It was a warm and gracious start to the afternoon. Our guide, Sarah, filled the trip with historical information and stories. She was another warm and adventurous presence, and made the afternoon pure delight. I would book another trip with them in a heartbeat.

Aloha Steph, With the bridge construction and road closure during our tour times, can make finding us at our Wailua River Marina location... a chore. Glad we were able to start guiding you not only on the road but eventually on the water to your *Wailua River Paddle with Sarah. We have a wonderful staff …top to bottom and bottom up. Jack and or Ka'ehu do wonderful job handling the phones to get you seamlessly on a tour and I can't wax eloquently enough about Sarah who gives 100% + on each tour she conduct.s Stay well and active and thanks for taking the time to share. One of the best activities I had in the island: 4.5 Mike's paddling on the river plus 2.5 miles hike to get toba beautiful waterfall where you can swim. Sara, our guide was amazing! Super nice and sweet and knows everything about the island. Definitely highly recommend Kayak Kauai for you next adventure in Kauai.
