Everything went exactly as planned. Kelly was a great guide, very knowledgeable and helpful. We lucked out with great weather for kayaking and a small group with just one other couple. It was well paced and really beautiful. We followed the kayaking with lunch and the Whitney Plantation tour which poignantly told the painful story of the enslaved people who were forced to work there and across the south and U.S. The plantation guide was excellent and really knew her stuff. I learned a lot and would highly recommend.

Both the kayak tour and the plantation tour were fabulous. I was so fortunate to see 3 alligators in the winter along with a variety of birds. We were the only people on the river which was also a treat. The Whitney plantation is the only plantation you need to see. They focus on the history of the slaves and how poorly they were treated. This tour was my favorite part of our vacation in New Orleans!!

If you have the time, get out and do the full day combo tour. Our guide Josh was awesome. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Kayak is a great way to see the bayou and swamp areas. Josh knows a lot about the flora and fauna of the area and was able to answer all of our questions and provided ecosystem context as well as history. We went for lunch at a beautiful spot with great food, then to the Whitney plantation for a historical tour. Highly recommend.
