The best thing i found about city pass was that if you are visiting New York with Teenagers this is the best option as all the other passes class anybody over Twelve as adults so you have to pay full price with city pass this does not apply.

We visited New York from the UK at the end of March 2019 and in our experience this pass offered different queues to non-pass holders, but none of the myriad of passes out there will actually skip all of the lines. Here was our experience: 9/11 Museum (Visited 11am on a weekday). There were about 50 people queuing for tickets and with other passes. We walked straight inside, HOWEVER, once inside we did have to queue for airport style security as everyone does. Top of the Rock (Visited at about 10.30am on a weekday) - A confusing timed ticketing system operates here and CityPasses must be exchanged for actual tickets. We didn't have to queue to swap tickets and there was no waiting time so we were able to visit straight away with very small queues for security. The Empire State Building (Visited at about 9am on a weekday) - Virtually no queues this early but our CityPass would have skipped entry queues. Everyone still has to queue for security. Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island - (Visited at about 9.30am on Sunday) CityPass needs to be exchanged for actual tickets (small queues at the ticket windows), and allows you to join the express line towards security. Security queues were quite large for everyone then you're queuing with everyone else for the ferries, which are frequent, but were very busy. The longest we waited was about 20 minutes from Ellis Island back to Battery Park. We felt the pass was worth the money and were happy with our waiting times at each venue.

If you are planning on taking in four or more of the offered attractions, CityPass NYC is worth the money. We were able to experience the Empire State Building, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock, Ferry Access to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. It was so easy to use on our iPhones at most locations. The computers were down at the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Ferry Access, so we had to wait in a long line to get hard copy tickets. Another issue we ran into was at the American Museum of Natural History, which has kiosks to redeem tickets, just not for CityPass. So again, we had to wait in a long line for hard copy tickets. Even though we had to wait in a few lines, I feel the overall value outweighed the minor hiccups related to waiting in lines. If you plan to see a minimum of four of the attractions offered, I highly recommend CityPass.
