1st Republic Brewing Co
These breweries are sample itineraries only. All schedules are subject to change. The founders of 1st Republic Brewing, Shawn Trout and Mike Drake, both served on active duty and with distinction overseas before returning to Vermont to serve up some of the best Veteran crafted brews. In fact, 1st Republic was voted 2018’s VT Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year. They love everything about beer from brewing it to drinking it to teaching about it and to sharing it. Friends, family, and beer lovers can gather ’round the taproom for fun, games, locally delivered food, and raising a glass to good beer and good times.

Queen City Brewery
Founded in 2014 by long-time friends and brewers Paul Hale, Paul Held, Phil Kaszuba, and Maarten van Ryckevorsel, Queen City Brewery brews a variety of traditional ales and lagers, as well as several unique specialty beers with a focus on giving the customer a unique experience with unexpected notes in their beers that they’ve aged and fermented to produce complex flavors unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. (So yeah, we’re pretty much changing your life by bringing you here. No need to thank us.) On our tour, you’ll see why this foursome rose to frothy success as you sip your way through their suds, including a rare style they brew call ‘Steinbeer’ that’s brewed with hot rocks. The process grants less temperature control to the brewer and imparts a smoky, caramel flavor. Yep, we’ll say it again: life-changing.
3
Zero Gravity Craft Brewery
Founded in 2004, Zero Gravity Brewing was born inside a restaurant that Flatbread head brewer, Destiny Saxon, and Zero Gravity brewmaster, Paul Sayler, created called American Flatbread Burlington Hearth. For years, they brewed exclusively out of the brewpub location, but as their popularity and demand grew, in 2012, they began distributing Zero Gravity for off-premise sales, and two years later, they had fully maxed out the production at the Flatbread Brewpub. Forced to find more space, they moved operations to a beautiful 30-barrel facility in Burlington’s South End Arts District, and in the spring of 2015, the Pine Street Brewery was born.

Zero Gravity

We came, we saw, we tasted, we conquered!! My friend and I came to Vermont specifically for this beer tour and it definitely met our expectations. We had Matt as our tour guide and he was very knowledgable in the beer brewing process and answered all our questions. We went to Burlington Beer, Queen City, Fiddlehead and Magic Hat. The pizza was amazing at Fiddlehead, I definitely recommending having lunch there. The only downside was we didn't get much information about the beers at Fiddlehead like we did at the other breweries. It was very busy on the restaurant and the store side. It would have been nice to have a private room or section to hear what type of beers they have. All in all I would say Burlington Beer and Magic Hat were our favourite beers but they all had great atmospheres. If you are visiting Vermont and like beer this is definitely something worth experiencing! Cheers, Lisa and Danielle

Wanted to take my boyfriend away for our Birthdays and decided to explore Burlington, Vermont for the first time to indulge in our love for beer. This tour surpassed my expectations (we went on the classic brew tour.) We were picked up by Matt (our tour guide) as scheduled at our hotel. Matt RULES. He was awesome right off the bat as well as knowledgeable, fun, and extremely accommodating; he made everyone feel really comfortable. At each brewery we got to try generous samples of beer (Magic Hat offers the smallest samples but considering it's the last stop you'll still be happy; plus Magic Hat is like the Willy Wonka of breweries, definitely worth visiting.) At Fiddlehead (our third stop) we got to try samples as well enjoy a couple of growlers to drink with our lunch; the pizza at Folino's/Fiddlehead was honestly AMAZING (even if you don't go on this tour (which you should) go eat this pizza.) We made great friends with the other tour-goers and memories I'll always remember! Matt even let us stop at the infamous tallest filing cabinet in the world to take pictures with it. The tour was worth every penny considering we were able to get picked up, tour and learn about four awesome yet very different breweries, sample lots of Vermont beer, eat delicious pizza, make friends, and then get dropped back off. Would suggest this tour to anybody going to Burlington or to VT, period.

Perfect gift for the beer enthusiast in your life. My boyfriend and I took the Classic Brew Tour on a Saturday in February. Four other couples were also on the tour. Matt, our fabulous tour guide, picked us up at our hotel (on time!) and took us to Switchback, Queen City, Fiddlehead, and Magic Hat. Matt was very knowledgable about the beers at each stop (most beers, in general) and was happy to answer any and all questions we had. He also gave us some great recommendations for places to check out after the tour...including a great spot to watch the game when we were finished! Each brewery was expecting us and made us feel very welcome. The pizza served at Folino's for lunch was top notch! Do not hesitate to book this tour! Looking forward to our next opportunity to make it to Burlington!! Thanks Matt!!
