Our tour of the Met was exceptional because of our guide, Mark Venaglia. Mark is an artist so seeing the art through his educated lens made our experience exceptional! I loved seeing my teenage daughter engage with art and history vs. her phone. I will definitely book another tour with Babylon next time!

The tour with our guide, Mark Venaglia, was a top highlight for us during our trip to NYC. It was a perfect blend of "Macro" (getting the big picture history along with all the big highlights the museum has to offer) and the "Micro" (little known details and secrets of the museum and the stories behind the art and artisans). It’s always tricky with a group tour, because like a “box of chocolates”, you never know what you’re going to get or which of the tour guests will want to prove the money they spent for their degree in Art History at the local community college was well worth it, by monopolizing the discussion and peppering the guide with questions, aimed more at getting validation as a pseudo art aficionado than actually learning something new. However, our guide, Mark, never took the bait. It would have been easy for him to allow the tensions created by the art history buff to show through. But instead, I was greatly impressed by his ability to maintain a positive vibe while managing this “Cliff Claven” of the art world. It was a master class in how to facilitate a group. Well done!!
