The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.

The great reveal and the knowledgeable guide made this the best day ever. Sam made this day with his love and passion of the canyon. He did great informing us and entertaining us at same time.

My family and I came to Phoenix so that we could finally see the Grand Canyon. I booked this trip so that we didn't have to drive ourselves and we could ALL enjoy the drive. Our tour guide, Malcolm, was phenomenal. He taught us so much about Arizona on the drive up to the GC. We enjoyed stopping at Williams so that we could get some Route 66 souvenirs. When we got to the Canyon, we couldn't believe how spectacular it was. We had a small group and had plenty of time to enjoy a walk, lunch and even shop. Malcolm took us to 4-5 of the best views. I would recommend to anyone doing this tour to bring their lunch. We went in the winter and the eateries were crowded. We ended up eating outside on a bench w/ our picnic lunch. The sun was shining and it was awesome!! I am glad we brought something rather than wasting time standing in line :) Thank you DeTours!! This family made great memories on our trip!!
